Back To Basics CoOp is an initiative to help communities have direct involvement with the food they eat and the value of the land around them. Our goal is to have our members be in tune with the local food supply, the seasonal patterns of where we live, and have a hand in the growth of not only vegetables and fruits, but also the organic meat that we consume. A better understanding and a hands-on approach to the natural lifecycle can help our communities build responsibility and think of our food supplies in a more sustainable fashion.
Initially our aim is to start with micro-farming on small plots of land, akin to a vegetable garden in a yard. As we grow in membership and find adequate property, we will expand to raising free-range chickens, producing eggs, and eventually even look into cattle farming and beef production.
The essence of our venture is grounded in community building and social entrepreneurship. We plan to provide a low-risk path to utilize small investments of $10K to get nominal returns in the long term.
